The BeautyBlender has an open cell structure filled with small amounts of water when they are wet. This makes it possible for the fungus to be "full", making the product available on the surface of the sponge instead of being absorbed inside, so you can use less product every time. When it is wet the sponge doubles in size and becomes even softer. It returns to its original size when air dried.

With BeautyBlender, you choose to use safe, water-soluble dyes that will not damage the environment, but still maintain the properties of proprietary foam. For this reason, you may find that some color runs off the first time you wash your BeautyBlender. This is normal and will disappear after you have cleaned the product several times. Note that the color will not be transferred onto the face or clothing.
